Dub and Electronica. We hope you enjoy this latest Powtunes release.

The Story Continues.

MUTE: By Tony Vickers

1. Good Stuff…
Taken from the ‘’electronicvoice’’ EP.
This was the first track written by myself, doing Programming, Keyboards and sampling.
Whist Doug Pike played Guitar and Bass. Plus legendry horror actor Vincent Price also features on this classic track.
Very ‘’Joy Division’’ sounding too, well that was the idea anyway!

2. Arrival (break out mix) *Unreleased*
This track was originally featured on the ‘’Any Means of Payment’’ EP.
However I decided to re-record it, with a softer approach to the original.
Plus I used ‘’The Prisoner’’ sample that fitted perfectly
Featuring Doug Pike on Bass, and Barnaby Oliver on Synthesizers.

3. The Hammer (Marathon Mix)
Another track originally featured on the ‘’Any Means of Payment’’ EP.
However not being satisfied with the original version, Barnaby Oliver, re-mixed the track and what a
corker it is to! M.C. Hammer’s ‘’Can’t Touch This’’ sample is used also.
This track was also featured on the Powtunes compilation
‘’The Story of What Came Next - 10 Years of Powtunes Music’’.
Featuring Doug Pike on Bass, and Barnaby Oliver on Synthesizers.

4. Heat of the Night (dub mix)
This track was recorded for the Powtunes compilation
‘’The Story of What Came Next - 10 Years of Powtunes Music’’.
The alternative vocal version was also featured on the album as a bonus track, plus it later
appeared on the ‘’Pushing Buttons’’ EP.

5. Def by Disco (stripped mix) *Unreleased*
This was originally the first mix Barnaby Oliver, did for the ‘’Pushing Buttons’’ EP.
However I choose the edited version for the EP, leaving this version for the album.
I really do like the build up to this one!

6. Pushing Buttons
Taken from the EP ‘’Pushing Buttons’’.
A nice heavy duty dub track, to chill out to!
Heavily influenced by the late great dub guru ‘’King Tubby’’

7. Dub ‘’U’’ Like
Taken from the ‘’electronicvoice’’ EP.
A very dark and experimental track, influenced by Mick Harris aka ‘’Scorn".

8. Panic Stations (vocal edit) *Unreleased*
Original version featured on the ‘’Pushing Buttons’’ EP.
Everybody loved this track, but my vocals got slated,
‘’But hey, I never said I was a singer’’. So we took the vocals off,
apart from the chorus without the distortion which worked well for the album.
A very ‘’Sisters of Mercy’’ sounding track but I am no Andrew Eldritch!

9. Panic Stations (Radio) *Unreleased*
Taken from the EP ‘’Pushing Buttons’’.
From BBC Radio Berkshire’s ‘’The Session’’ programme featured winner June 2007.
Presented by Linda Serck.

10. Def by Disco (Radio) *Unreleased*
Taken from the EP ‘’Pushing Buttons’’.
From BBC Radio Berkshire’s ‘’The Session’’ programme featured October 2007.
Presented by Linda Serck.
